Jewelry Care
One of the things we love most about what we do here is that we get to try new trends and fun jewelry without breaking the bank! Unlike fine jewelry that’s made with pure gold that can cost a fortune, fashion jewelry is crafted with copper with layers of gold that makes it more affordable. Your fashion jewelry likely won’t last forever, but you can minimize signs of wear and extend their longevity by properly caring for them and choosing well-crafted pieces.
Here are some tips on caring for your plated piece:
– Keep away from hard surfaces. Bumps and scratches will cause the layer to wear away faster.
– Store in a velvet lined jewelry box, or wrap it in a soft material that will prevent scratches.
– Use a non-abrasive jewelry polishing cloth and gently rub the plated jewelry to restore shine.
– Try to keep pieces apart, so that they don’t rub together or tangle up.
– Wear plated jewelry for appropriate tasks
– Don’t let your plated jewelry come into contact with nail polish removers, perfume and hairspray.
– Never go swimming in your plated jewelry, chlorine in swimming pools can cause damage.
